James is a dedicated chess coach with a strong competitive background and a genuine passion for helping students improve. His achievements include 1st place in the U14 Australian Junior Chess Championships and 2nd place in the U16 Australian Junior Chess Championships. He also served as his high school chess captain, reflecting both his leadership and commitment to the game from a young age.
James began learning chess through online resources at the age of 12 and quickly showed outstanding progress, placing second in his very first scholastic tournament within the same year. With 3 years of coaching experience, he understands the student journey deeply and brings a relatable, encouraging approach to his teaching.
